Jesus Christ Is All in All

DÍA 1 DE 11

All things were created by Jesus Christ

“He is ... the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through Him and for Him.” (Colossians 1:15-16)

Many religions have a multitude of gods. For example, in addition to their supreme god Zeus, the Greeks had a god of agriculture, a god and goddess of love, a god of fire, a god of commerce, a god of the realm of the dead, and many more. It was the same with the Romans. Their world of gods was complex and chaotic. According to these religions, there was not one creator of the world, but the earth was the work of several gods who cheated, thwarted, and killed each other. What a contrast to the creation story found in the Bible! Paul told the Romans about “the God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth”, who “gives to all mankind life and breath and everything.” (Acts 17:24-25)

In his letter to the Colossians, Paul explains that Jesus Christ is the reason and purpose of creation. Through Him everything - the visible and the invisible world - came into being. The earth was made purposeful, structured, and harmonious.

The Bible does not deny that other spiritual forces exist, such as angels and demons. But these were all created by Jesus Christ and, therefore, subject to Him.

What does it matter to you how and by whom the world was created?

Jesus Christ Is All in All

Jesus Christ is greater than all. By Him all things were created, and in Him all things hold together. Moreover, in Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, and He forgives us all our trespasses, reconciling to God all things, whether on earth or in heaven. If we are united with Jesus, there’s nothing more to long for. He really is all in all!
