Day 30 Renewal Readings

The Attributes of God

To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are His. (Job 12:13)

Hallelujah! Salvation, glory, and power belong to our God because His judgments are true and righteous. (Revelation 19:1-2)

The Works of God

O Lord, what is man that You know him, or the son of man that You think of him? Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow. (Psalm 144:3-4)

God gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:29-31)

My Relationship to God

Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I will yet praise Him for the help of His presence. O my God, my soul is downcast within me; therefore I will remember You. Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God. (Psalm 42:5-6, 11)

I rejoice in my tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out into my heart through the Holy Spirit who was given to me. (Romans 5:3-5)

The Character I Want to Cultivate

I will be strong and courageous; I will not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord my God will be with me wherever I go. (Joshua 1:9)

I will be strong and courageous, and act. I will not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God is with me. He will not fail me or forsake me. (1 Chronicles 28:20)

My Relationship to Others

A generous man will prosper, and he who waters will himself be refreshed. (Proverbs 11:25)

He who is generous will be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor. (Proverbs 22:9)
