Jesus Culture Bible Challenge: A 30 Day JourneyMuestra
Day 22: Paul and Silas Are Imprisoned
After being beaten and thrown in jail, Paul and Silas started singing hymns in praise to God. God responded with an earthquake that broke the jail open. The jailer was about to kill himself, thinking he had lost all his prisoners, but Paul stopped him and led him to the Lord. Then we’ll read about Paul and Silas in Thessalonica, Berea and Athens in Acts 17. Paul’s speech to the city council of Athens is a great example of sharing the Good News in a relevant way without compromising the message.
Reflection:
Nothing can imprison a thankful, worshipping heart. Today, fast from negativity and keep a worship song in your heart. What are truths (such as God’s love, forgiveness, strength) that would be meaningful to a friend who is not in relationship with Jesus yet? How could you communicate those in a meaningful way?
