Life is not a controlled experiment. Life is a journey. It is my opinion that most discipleship models fail to embrace how the journey of everyday life can mature and grow us into mature followers of Christ. I suggest that we need a helpful metaphor or “parable” that can help us picture what discipleship looks like in all its colors, ups and downs, and ebbs and flows. Music can help! 

In Christ, you are chosen, made holy, included, and empowered to be all He created you to be. This plan walks women through the book of Ephesians as they learn to live in their new Christ-centered identity.

ShofarBand is a South African worship and songwriting collective. In January 2024, we released our live album, Welcome Home. This plan is based on those songs, telling the story of a God who is both transcendent and intimate, both high above and near to us. May this plan and these songs enlarge our view of the love and holiness of God, creating space for encounters with His Holy Spirit.

Isn't it ironic that what we're called to is complete dependence? This walk through the Fruits of the Spirit reminds us that as we totally submit to God, only then will we be stronger and more beautiful.

Paul’s letters to the Ephesians reveal God’s amazing love, grace, and purpose for us. They show us how to live out our faith practically, find unity in our communities, and deepen our relationship with Christ. Join us over the next two weeks as we dive into what it means to journey together in faith.

This plan examines how Paul designed Ephesians to teach Christians how to build, maintain and thrive in God's kingdom.

In rural Australia - we are very keen on "identity" - who we are, what drives us, where we are going, where we fit in life. God is pretty keen on identity too - and Paul writes Ephesians with that in mind. As we move through Ephesians, God lovingly draws us back to know the confidence of who we are as his people, in this world, moved by his purposes.

Immediately in the first chapter of the Bible, we read how God created light. And further on in the Bible, light is often used as a metaphor for God’s domain as opposed to the domain of sin and death. Jesus even calls Himself “the Light of the world”. Light and darkness thus have an important place in the Bible. This reading plan presents a selection of verses about this topic.
