In the ancient Jewish world, “living water” referred specifically to a source of fresh, flowing water — such as a stream or river — that offered cool refreshment. Such waters were contrasted with “dead” or stagnant waters. “Living water” became a powerful image of the life God offers.

When we own up to our disappointment in the way God runs the world, when we realize the same old answers to life’s problems no longer apply a salve to suffering, we must set out on a journey to find the God who is, not the God who behaves according to our expectations. Along the way we find out that “good” might be better—though different—than we had imagined.

Three times in I Samuel, Jonathan said to his young armor bearer, "Come, Let's Go!" Three times in Revelation 22 Jesus said, "I'm coming soon!" It's been more than 2,000 years since Jesus made this promise. Jesus gave the church a simple job to do. It's called the Great Commission. So church, why hasn't Jesus COME back yet? We need discipleship in evangelism! COME, LET'S GO!
