This daily prayer guide will allow you to join in a combined prayer initiative for Tshwane as we trust God to reach those far from Him, bring churches closer together and see the power of the gospel at work in practically transforming our city as His kingdom comes in every home, workplace and city street.

In this Advent Infinitum Series, we will be using the themes of Tragedy, Comedy and Fairytale. They will act as doorways into a deeper understanding of surrender, generosity, and mission. Each theme lasts 7 days. The first day will be an introduction. Days 2 to 6 will give you a reading, an experience, a practice, a question, and a prayer. Day 7 is Sabbath, consolidation, review, and recollection.

Luke’s Gospel is a beautiful and powerful telling of the life of Jesus. Luke focuses on Jesus as the Son of Man, the foretold Messiah who came to “seek and save the lost” (Luke 19:10). This Gospel shows us the “Upside-Down Kingdom” - that God uses what the world deems foolish and weak to shame the wise and strong.

The welcome of Christ was astonishing to the culture around him. He gave voice to the speechless, frustrated the powerful, and humbled the wise. As Christians, our welcome should be like his– wonderfully surprising, deeply challenging, and firmly rooted in love. This five-week study explores the complicated and beautiful welcome of Jesus toward his most beloved creation, human beings. Live The Story (LTS) is a small group curriculum that helps people move from simply admiring or agreeing with the story of Jesus to living it out every day of their lives. In the “Imagine the Possibilities” Plan, we will continue our study through the gospel of Luke and read how Jesus performs miracles and changes live. This still will increase our faith, restore our souls, and keep our hope anchored in God.

Whatever December looks like for you, wherever you are, whoever you are with or not with, our hope is that you will set aside time every day over the next four weeks to open God’s Word. We will have short devotionals each day to help you reflect on the day’s reading. We pray that you will see Jesus in a new light this Christmas.
