Today, more people are on the move in the global diaspora than ever before. What is God doing in our world today? To better understand, we will look at the word of God through the lens of people on the move and be introduced to unreached people groups in the diaspora and pray for them.

Jesus’ story on earth starts long before He was born. It begins in the wombs of women whose stories are complex, messy, and often unexpected. Join us as we dive into the lives of five incredible women—Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba, and Mary—who made up Jesus’ lineage and discover how they made a mark not only within their lifetimes, but also in the years and years to come.

While we rejoice at many triumphs of leaders in the Bible, we scarce remember their frequent, often undeserved, trials. It is during these challenges of life, survived over decades usually, that God creates a foundation for their incredible leadership success. We will examine many heroic, overcoming stories and how God’s word encourages us during difficult circumstances. Leadership isn’t easy, but He will always be with us.

The Bible is a compilation of 66 books. Each book has an overarching theme. Multiple stories and texts in each book point to an attribute of God. When these themes are recognized, they help us understand the message of that book better. It also allows us to see how One Single Story is woven from beginning to end. Ultimately, each theme will enable us to understand Jesus and why He came.

The Book of Ruth is the Cinderella story of the Old Testament, and it’s one of the most wonderfully written stories in all of Scripture. It focuses on a female friendship between the young new convert Ruth and the older Naomi, who struggled with bitterness. And the love story between Ruth and Boaz is on par with anything a Hollywood filmmaker can dream up.

The book of Ruth is famous for the most captivating redemption story. In this devotion we will be looking at how to navigate around different relationships, dealing with loss, healing, making decisions, and trusting God’s process and plan in the midst of changing times and seasons.

Ruth must surely be one of the loveliest stories ever written, telling an unforgettable tale of purity, faithfulness, innocence, loyalty, duty, and love. We read of ordinary people in Bethlehem facing everyday events, from loss and dislocation to marriage and family life. In all of this, however, Alistair Begg reminds us that no matter how dark our days may seem, God still protects His people and accomplishes His purposes.
