YHWH

દિવસ 2 માંથી 3

This passage, written by David, has been one of my favourite go-to scriptures whenever I needed encouragement.

Over the years, I have enjoyed exegeting the entire Psalm, yet I would pass the word LORD. To my surprise, when I began to be interested in the word YHWH, I discovered that the word “LORD” in this passage refers to YHWH.

David views and embraces the LORD as YHWH, the self-existent, eternal God.

Before David saw the LORD as a Shepherd, he first saw Him as Jehovah, or YHWH.

David saw the LORD as the one who created all things and all things finding their existence in Him.

After David acknowledged the LORD as YHWH, he motions in the direction of calling him a Shepherd. David refers to the LORD as Jehovah Roi (The LORD my Shepherd). Shepherd is someone who cares, feeds and leads His sheep.

Therefore, since David saw the LORD as YHWH and as a Shepherd, he had the confidence that he would not want.

We can have the same confidence if we believe that the LORD is YHWH and our caring Shepherd.

Prayer:

LORD, Thank You that You are my Shepherd and I shall not want.
