This Is Whyનમૂનો

At first glance, Paul’s words to the Corinthians here can feel incredibly challenging. That’s because, as humans, we tend to think concretely first. We focus on the things that are tangible and make sense to us. We fix our eyes on the things we can see and understand—the things of this world. But as Christians, we have access to something more—something bigger and better. The challenge? It’s something unseen. It’s something that requires us to push past our temporal thinking and into the abstract world where hope lives. To put our trust in something we can’t see, can’t touch, and can’t experience concretely in this life.
But it’s something we can trust because it’s the source of our hope. It’s the faith that holds us for eternity. The faith that stands when all we can see fades. While it may not always be easy to hold on to this kind of hope when all that we see and experience in this life feels hard or challenging, we’ll find that when we fix our eyes on what’s unseen and for eternity, that’s the first step in holding on to the hope we have in Christ, no matter what.
This week, take time to memorize this verse. Let it remind you of where to fix your eyes and focus your attention.

We’ve all had those experiences that are so real and impactful to us that we want other people to know about them, too. More than just telling the people in our lives about it, we want them to feel it, to get it, to care about it, and even experience it the way we do. And for followers of Jesus, our faith is a message of hope we simply can’t keep to ourselves. In this devotional, we’re going to look at what it means to share the gospel of Jesus with the world around us.
