The God Who Controls Time

Time is the one thing you cannot get back.

You know that...and so does the enemy. Which is why his primary strategy is not always an outright attack. Sometimes it is simply wasting your time. Keeping you distracted. Keeping you in a season longer than you were meant to be. Making you feel like the delay is permanent.

Time is one resource every human shares equally yet experiences differently. Once it passes, it cannot be retrieved. That is why God's word urges us to treat time with reverence, not casually.

Many people assume they have “plenty of time,” especially in their youth. But time does not pause for potential. Every day moves us forward, whether we are intentional or not. Yet, this is not meant to create fear but to give wisdom.

But I want to show you something from Daniel. God does not just allow time to pass. He controls it. He changes seasons. He removes kings and raises up kings. He is not sitting outside your calendar, watching helplessly. He is inside it. And He can compress years into months. He can return what was stolen. He can make the second half feel nothing like the first.

Daniel 2 tells us that God changes times and seasons. This means time is not random; it is governed. God is not surprised by transitions, delays, or sudden shifts. He is the Author of seasons, and He invites us to walk in step with Him.

God, as the Creator and Controller of time, has the power to intervene in human timelines in extraordinary ways. First, He can stop time, as seen in Joshua 10 when the sun stood still so Israel could secure victory. Second, He can extend time, as demonstrated in the life of King Hezekiah, whom God granted fifteen additional years after prayer and repentance. Third, God can reverse time, as shown through the sign given to Hezekiah when the shadow moved backward as confirmation of God’s promise. These examples remind us that God is not limited by natural timing and can alter circumstances according to His purpose and mercy.

Understanding is important in this matter because without it, wisdom will result in confusion. If you do not know what season you are in, you may misuse the grace available to you.

While some seasons require preparation, others require movement, and some require patience. In all, it is through discernment that you will respond to all seasons correctly.

There is no such thing as wasted time when God is involved. What looks like waiting can become shaping. What feels like a delay can become direction. But this only happens when we remain connected to the One who controls time.

When we disconnect from God’s rhythm, we feel rushed, anxious, or stagnant. When we align with Him, even busy seasons carry peace.

God is not asking you to do everything at once. He is asking you to do the right thing at the right time.

Ask:

Do you feel behind in life right now? Before you panic, stop. Write a one-sentence prayer handing your calendar to God. Deliberately. Today.

HALFTIME

Halftime is not a rest. It is a room where the game is decided. In sports, the winning team is rarely the team that had the best first half. It's the team that made an honest assessment of what was not working during the interval and returned with a different plan. In this 5-day plan, I want to take you into the spiritual halftime room. God is not limited by the clock. Whether you feel like you are winning or behind right now, the strategies in this plan are for you.
