Start Here Each Dayનમૂનો

There’s something in all of us that likes to feel in control — even if we know deep down we’re not.
We plan, we organise, we map things out in our heads, we rehearse conversations, and we try to anticipate outcomes before they happen. It can feel like if we just think enough or prepare enough, we might be able to hold life steady. But in reality, life rarely follows our plans exactly the way we imagine.
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” (Proverbs 16:3)
This verse doesn’t dismiss your plans — it reorders them. It reminds you that your life was never meant to be carried by your own strength alone.
Surrender is not giving up on life. It’s giving up the pressure of believing you have to hold it all together.
And that pressure is heavier than most of us realise. It sits quietly in the background — in decisions you feel responsible for, in outcomes you’re trying to manage, in expectations you’re carrying for yourself and even for others.
But when you start your day by surrendering it to God, something shifts. You’re not stepping away from responsibility — you’re stepping out of pressure. You’re choosing to trust that you are not the centre of holding everything together.
It’s a quiet but powerful moment of honesty: God, I can’t carry all of this — but I trust that You can.
And often, that release brings a kind of peace that control never actually delivered, even when things did go “right.”
Because surrender isn’t loss — it’s trust. It’s placing your day, your plans, your conversations, your unknowns into the hands of a God who sees further than you do and holds more than you ever could.
You don’t have to force outcomes to feel secure. You don’t have to carry tomorrow in today’s strength. You’re invited to walk with open hands instead of clenched ones.
Reflection
• What are you holding tightly onto right now — maybe without even realising it?
• Where do you feel pressure to make everything work out today?
• What might change in your heart if you genuinely released control to God this morning?
Prayer
God, I bring You my plans, my expectations, and my need for control. Help me to trust You with what I cannot manage and to rest in Your wisdom today. Teach me to walk through this day with open hands and a steady heart in You. Amen.
