Revelation:
After exploring how our perceptions may be veiled, today we’ll see that the answer is not only in our eyes but in what Christ has revealed.
I once heard the testimony of missionaries sharing about revivals in Islamic villages in the Middle East. Chiefs and leaders of these tribes recounted that a man dressed in white would appear at night, preaching the gospel to them and affirming His identity as the Son of God. Soon, others began sharing the same experience. For some, He appeared in dreams; others claimed He appeared physically. In this way, entire villages ended up giving their lives to Jesus.
How is something like this even possible? Through the death and resurrection of Christ. Jesus, though possessing divinity, did not cling to equality with God. Therefore, the Father granted Him exaltation and authority over all things. The veil was removed, and there is no longer separation between God and man.
To embrace such a truth can feel offensive to the frameworks of human thinking, but there is nothing, nor will there ever be anything, more real, more powerful, and more enduring than the resurrection and the revelation of Christ.
What we’ve seen so far is merely part of the story we’ve cultivated as we explore what Christ has revealed on a greater scale. Beyond isolated manifestations, Scripture shows us that the revelation of God is not temporary, nor is it reserved for a select few. It is written: “The only Son has made Him known” (John 1:18), and also: “Every eye will see Him” (Revelation 1:7).
We can conclude, then, that the revelation of God carries an undeniable inevitability. Its DNA is written into the past, present, and future. His mystery and His revelation are not opposites, but a rhythm: He was revealed, He is being revealed, and He will be revealed. What remains for us is simple: to pause, to behold, and to ask questions.
In this walk of faith, there is a goal: to know God. And God has made Himself accessible to us. I am not saying that if you haven’t seen Him physically you are doing something wrong, but I am saying that we must awaken from the familiarity that has reduced the possibilities of God and tried to confine Him within the parameters of religion. Christ must be the standard.
As for me, regardless of how I see God manifest, I am certain of one thing: we can see God.
