Paul reminded them of their new identity in Christ and called them to live differently—treating others well, speaking kindly, obeying, and standing strong in faith through life’s challenges. No one wants to be a slave. We don’t like to be restrained or told what to do or how we should live. We love our freedom and resent any constraints.
