This reading plan explores the fourth gospel. Nagaland, a province of India, high up in the Himalayas, was the last place where headhunters were still active in the latter part of the 1900s. Then God sent revival. It was a most astonishing revival with "signs, wonders, great deeds, miracles, visions, dreams, healings, and deliverance from demons." Like in the New Testament.

The book of Daniel tells us about four young Jewish men who were taken captive by the Babylonian king to serve him. The apostle Paul tells his readers, “We must suffer many things on our way into God’s kingdom” (Acts 14:22). Reading the book of Acts or hearing testimonies from Christians all over the world, these words are proven true. Believers face opposition and persecution. Maybe you experience affliction yourself. In this reading plan, we want to encourage you and to teach you how to handle affliction.

Because Peter and the other apostles knew Jesus not only as Savior, but also as teacher, leader, mentor, and friend, they became effective leaders in the early Church drawing continually on Jesus’ words, the example He set, and the experience they gained under His earthly leadership to advance God’s Kingdom by advancing the Gospel. 

The world can sometimes feel full of disappointments and difficult circumstances. The idea of joy may seem too lofty. Joy is something we choose to see, no matter the circumstances. A joy we choose to feel, even when the world feels empty and cold, and one that shows us we were meant for more than we know. Let's discover the elevated life of joy that is our gift from God.
