This reading plan explores the fourth gospel. John wrote the fourth gospel to assure persecuted Jewish believers that Jesus was the fulfillment of God's ancient promises to the Jews; that Jesus really is the Christ, the Son of God. John wanted to make sure that they would remain faithful to Jesus and enjoy abundant life in him.

“All generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me,” Mary sang. And she was right. She became the mother of Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God! This gives her a unique position in God’s salvation plan. This reading plan is about Mary, a humble and blessed woman with great faith.

I have designated readings for Ash Wednesday and the high points of Holy Week and included an extra reading for the Monday after Easter, but otherwise, whatever day you happen to be reading a devotional is the day the Holy Spirit ordained that you should be receiving its truth.
