Only two letters separate the words victor and victim, yet vastly different outcomes result from living through one or the other. With one you will conquer, the other will conquer you. My hope with this plan is that you will introspect and look into the Word of God to validate your pain, bring it to light, and try to seek healing from living under the bondage of victim mentality.

We have many battles yet to fight but we do not fight to achieve victory; we fight from the victory already achieved on the cross. There are certain enemies whom God delivers you from, but there are other enemies He empowers you to have dominion over. Deliverance is what God does in you; dominion is what He does through you.

Christmas is filled with wonder. Yet under the twinkly lights and piles of paper and ribbon, all its promise can be lost in our must-do lists, noisy distractions, or dreams dismantled by the stuff of life. Instead, let’s journey to the manger where Jesus came for our rescue. Realizing that we will only begin to scratch the surface of Who He is and what He has done in this lifetime.

In Luke 11:1, they said, “Teach us to pray.” They had seen Him praying more than anything else. How can we learn from Jesus’ priority of prayer?

When the devil tempted Jesus in the wilderness, he spoke the word of God back to satan and told him to flee. If you are in the middle of spiritual warfare, you need to declare the word of God back to the enemy. The Bible tells us to use the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Therefore, praying the word of God is your defense against the enemy’s attacks. You have all power and authority over satan. The victory is yours. Declare it over your life today.

If we are honest, we admit that the Bible can be confusing, even the New Testament. But to truly understand and apply the Bible well, we need to understand the cultural background of the passages we are reading.
