As Christians, our welcome should be like his– wonderfully surprising, deeply challenging, and firmly rooted in love. This five-week study explores the complicated and beautiful welcome of Jesus toward his most beloved creation, human beings. We will have short devotionals each day to help you reflect on the day’s reading. We pray that you will see Jesus in a new light this Christmas.

This plan will guide you in reading the Gospel of Matthew and hear what God is speaking to you personally. We are looking forward to read and hear this together with our church.

Matthew’s Gospel opens the New Testament by brilliantly introducing the culmination of the entire Old Testament story. We’ll learn practical skills like when we feel angry, pause to ask God why. We’ll see how, when we’re angry, Jesus shows us how to respond. And in our anger, we'll be challenged to show grace and not get hurtful.

It’s easy to see brokenness in our lives and the world, leaving us feeling hopeless. But with Jesus, broken things don’t have to stay broken.
