Holy Week is the week leading up to Easter Sunday. In this 8-day Plan, we will read Scripture that details the final week of Jesus’s life, including his crucifixion, death, and resurrection from the grave. From Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday, you’ll read about the power behind these acts that brings life, hope, and joy to every Christ follower.

In the midst of fear and uncertainty, we have hope and certainty. Christ came, Christ died, and Christ is risen! Over the next 8 days, let’s journey with Jesus through His last week on earth, from His triumphant entry into Jerusalem to the cross . . . and to the empty tomb. You are beginning a journey through the most important week in history. Come along with us and recline with Jesus at the Passover table, linger in the silence of Holy Saturday, and experience the joy of Jesus’ Resurrection. Each day, we’ll look at what the gospels say about the events of Holy Week and walk through a simple prayer. We’ll follow the S.O.A.P. study method: Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer.

This plan will guide you through the events of each day in Holy Week, from the triumphal entry on Palm Sunday to the resurrection on Easter Sunday.

"From Colt to Cross to Crown" is an eight-day devotional guiding you through the journey of Holy Week. From Jesus’ triumphant entry on a colt to His sacrifice on the cross and victorious resurrection, each day offers scripture, reflection, and prayer to deepen your faith and prepare your heart for Resurrection Sunday.

In this 8-day study, we will walk through the passion narratives and unpack how Jesus and his disciples understood them as fulfillments of Old Testament prefigurations of Jesus. Our starting point is that Jesus himself was the first to point out these scriptural connections to the disciples (Luke 24:44-46). And, just as the Holy Spirit opened their minds to understand the things Jesus taught them, we will ask the Spirit to similarly illumine us (John 14:26; 16:12-15).

Mark uses the word “immediately” over forty times in his Gospel, emphasizing the intentional nature of Jesus’ ministry. The quick succession of healings and miracles shows that Jesus “came not to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:44). Through Mark’s Gospel, we are reminded that true greatness in God’s kingdom comes not through selfish ambition, but by being the servant of all.
