The world we are living in is transient and temporal. As believers, we are passengers in transit on Earth and our destination is our eternity with Christ. As such, how do we remember our identity as God’s holy people while navigating the fallen world we are in? Journey with us and learn how we can live differently, as people not of this world.

Deeper into Scripture is a methodology of scripture reading that instructs, encourages and equips people to read God’s Word daily and deeply. We have created a unique four-fold method of bible reading that directs the individual to read a short passage of scripture four times. Each reading is done with a different question, instruction or objective to be considered. This repetitive reading and instruction takes us deeply into the Word of God and draws us closer to Him.

In “Triumph over Trials,” we will study the books of First and Second Peter. These letters remain as relevant today as when Peter first wrote them and provide an invaluable compass for navigating life in these challenging times.

We all need instructions, even marching orders. God’s provides these instructions through a series of letters that we find in the New Testament. The Basic Training Challenge gives you a starting point to learn about God’s mission for you here on earth. Similar to your basic training, this plan will challenge you to get spiritually fit in God’s Word.

Life is hard. The struggle IS real. While all of us experience seasons of blessing, we are broken people living in a broken world. The book of 1st Peter is candid about the struggles we face, but unapologetic about the hope and truth of Jesus. Walk through 1st Peter with this reading plan because the struggle is real! (We recommend using The Message (MSG) translation.)

It doesn’t matter if you have been downsized, laid off or outsourced, let go or fired. The pain is real, and the terrible toll of fear, anger, confusion, and uncertainty that happens when a person’s world collapses around him or her is much more than a statistical reality. It is just real. We pray that these devotionals will be used by Him to bring you hope and encouragement.

We want to see the hope of God work through us, in us, and in every space we find ourselves. "Hope" may sound like wishful thinking or vague optimism. As we study the concept of hope, as we study the God of hope, as we discover that we are carriers of hope, may we shine the light of His kingdom into all of the hopeless spaces in our society today.

This Reading Plan goes through the first chapter of 1 Peter. The apostle Peter is writing to Christians who are facing hard times, and exhorts them to stand firm in the true grace of God.
