This devotional is adapted from the book, Only One Life: How a Woman’s Every Day Shapes an Eternal Legacy, by Jackie Green and Lauren Green McAfee. 

Drawing from the Biblical premise of Paul addressing the Colossian church, which primarily consisted of slaves, the author speaks about the various issues related to pursuing excellence and ushers in a clarified understanding of the fact that faith is not merely for Sundays, but for every day, every place. He ends with a climaxing, soul-searching question - Are you willing to surrender your will to His today ?

As three fathers fight to save their families their lives become intertwined in an unlikely journey across the globe where they learn the healing power of forgiveness and reconciliation. 

Jesus came not to be served, but to serve. That’s the mandate for this week. Can we serve others the way Jesus served us, with zeal, a spiritual fervor and with devoted faithfulness? It’s worth seeing how we can be serving God and serving others like Jesus role-modeled for us over 2,000 years ago.

Grace is one of the supernatural gifts from God to us. His grace is sufficient, Jesus is defined as grace, and we are to show grace to others. It’s a poetic word with a powerful effect on everyone who practices it and accepts it from God. We’ll spend this week grasping how wide, deep, and high grace can be in life if we embrace it and practice it every day.

How hard is it to be consistent? Without constantly investing in our relationship with God, we threaten to slip away in our faith. This lesson contains simple and practical ways to pursue God in the everyday.  

If you want to see what God can do through you, it begins within, but it shouldn’t stop there. By taking action and serving others in Jesus’ name, we can make a significant, lasting impact.
