Paul wrote regarding church leadership and ministry perseverance that are powerful reminders to us today as we seek to stand firm with faith in an ungodly world.

In prison, chained like a criminal and awaiting his execution, Paul writes his final letter to his beloved spiritual son, Timothy. Knowing that his life may soon be over, Paul takes the opportunity to pass on gospel truth to the next generation. He exhorts Timothy to carry on faithfully preaching the gospel and encourages him to stick to the truth despite the suffering that will inevitably come his way.

Prayer is at the center of every great evangelistic movement, and every movement is made up of everyday people. Use this guide over the next 30 days to pray for someone you know who needs the hope of the gospel.

Paul is in dire circumstances, yet remains unwavering in his faith. While writing to Timothy from prison, he encourages him to draw strength from the grace found only in Christ. Paul reminds Timothy—and all of us—that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
