Temptation

It seems we often want to be delivered from temptation while still keeping close touch with it.  Pushing temptation away, just not too far away.  Is that you?  The theme of these guided audio meditations is how to overcome temptation.  Day one is better understanding temptation.  Day two is knowing the closeness of God in the midst.  And day three is learning to walk again after falling.

Overcoming Temptation

Without us knowing it, we need silence. During times of silence, we can become still before God and listen again. The voices of the world and even my own thoughts become muted. We need these times to refocus on God and understand who we are.

Three Sources of Temptation

In this world, we war against three main enemies: the world, the flesh, and the devil. The most difficult and personal enemy we face is what the Bible calls our flesh. The flesh cannot be conquered in any other way except by denying the wrong desires that entice us. Surrendering our lives to Christ gives us a new nature, and our old nature is to live in subjection to it.

How to Beat the Flesh

Being a “man of God” can be tough. Being a “young man of God” can be even tougher. This devotional will focus on the three areas in which young men are most frequently tempted: their Ways (i.e., temper), their Words (i.e., language), and their Wants (i.e., physical and emotional desires).
