I Choose Honorಮಾದರಿ

DAY TWO: What Happens When You Don’t Honor
Scripture gives us examples of what happens to those who dishonor the individuals God has placed in authority. King Saul’s impatience and presumption led him to dishonor God’s priest and God’s laws. He was waiting on the prophet Samuel to arrive and make sacrifices to the Lord for Israel. When Samuel failed to arrive at the designated time, Saul took it upon himself to make the sacrifices. He took Samuel’s authority on himself, without God’s blessing, which led to the downfall of his leadership. He dishonored the authority of the prophet and thus God’s authority.
Over the years, I have seen people who prefer to take matters into their own hands, working to remove leaders from power because they feel as if the leader is not the right fit, has behaved badly, or has become corrupt. In those situations turmoil reigns if they get their way. Churches split, countries experience civil war, businesses fail, and families tear apart. However, when faithful people wait on God’s timing by continuing to show honor and love, they are blessed in the end. Which do you want: turmoil or blessings?
