THE POSITION OF GOD

Even though the centurion showed his prominence and shared his prowess, our Lord was quick to add that he was amazed by the display of faith. Imagine receiving an accolade of superlative belief amidst doubt. The centurion did not think of himself as worthy of the Lord visiting him and instead made the disclaimer that he was in a position of power and could command the servant to arrive. God's place overcomes our petitions.

• God exalts his creations for such obedience 

• God expresses favor for such obedience 

• God expects the fruits of such obedience 

Inspiration

We are in times of great disarray: a global pandemic and a systemic lockdown coupled with the symbolic fights the cause and effect of a virus have brought humanity to a standstill. Add to this anger and resentment that comes with unemployment and shortage and obedience to God that one relied on every Sunday is now rendered absent because of social distancing mandates. 

The truth remains that before a global contagion and national control, there was, is, and always will be a sovereign creator. God wants us to be obedient, currently, more than at any other time. He will exalt us above all if we know that His favor is on us. He wishes for us to respond to the fruit of his word rather than react to the folly of the world. That's why He commands us to seek first His righteousness, and everything will be added unto us.
