Day Five: Wonder and Church

Reflect:

The Bible uses a beautiful image for the wonder of the church – the church is the bride of Christ. When I was in NYC I came across a little church that filled me with wonder. It is known as The Little Church Around the Corner.

‘Where might you find a little burst of wonder amid the scale and bustle of mid-town Manhattan? The obvious answer is in the extraordinary landscape here – the canyons and the cliffs of steel and glass. It truly is one of those places that is exactly what you want it to be.

‘But on a rainy day, with the world rushing by, it is easy to be beaten back by the noise and clamour. Father thank you for your precious church. Help us to build it into a place of love and wonderment. Let your precious church be a light to inspire all who are lost and lonely.
