In John 15:1-11, Jesus reminds us that He is the vine and we are the branches and that apart from Him we can do nothing. As we abide in Him and His word abides in us, we will bear much fruit and experience His joy. But how can we apply this passage to our lives?

Practical application: One way to apply this passage to our lives is to cultivate a habit of abiding in Christ. Spend time each day reading the Bible, praying, and seeking God's presence. Additionally, be intentional about staying connected to other believers who can help you grow in your faith and encourage you in your walk with God. As you abide in Christ, you will bear fruit and experience the joy that comes from knowing Him.

Prayer request: Pray for believers in Ukraine to remain connected to the vine, that they would bear fruit that glorifies God and experience the joy that comes from abiding in Christ. Pray for all those affected by the war in Ukraine, that they may be filled with hope, resilience, and a deep sense of community and solidarity, as they navigate the challenges and uncertainties of this difficult time.

Lord, we pray for our brothers and sisters in Ukraine to remain connected to the vine, which is Jesus Christ. We ask that You would help them to bear much fruit for Your kingdom and to glorify You in all that they do. May they abide in Your love and keep Your commandments, so that their joy may be full. We pray that You would prune away anything that is hindering their growth and that You would empower them to love one another as Christ has loved them. In Jesus' name, we pray, amen.
