7 Days Focused on Living Joyfullyಮಾದರಿ

His Peace
Jesus offers us peace, and not just any kind of peace but His peace. That doesn’t mean we’ll have carefree or drama-free lives. We are humans living in the world, and hardships will arise. The difference is that we have access to Jesus’ peace. We can have certainty that Christ is King, in control, and working all things for His glory and plan. His plan is good, as He is good. That is why we can have peace that surpasses our understanding.
Jesus charges us to “not let [our] hearts be troubled.” And I want to land on the idea that we have control of where we let our hearts dwell. He encourages us not to live in fear but to live in peace. His peace.
Reflect: Read this verse out loud. Then imagine Jesus speaking it to you personally.
Prayer: I will not let my heart be troubled because I trust you, Jesus. My hope and faith are in you. Amen.

About this Plan

Our culture encourages instant gratification, promoting must-have brands, conveniences, and luxuries, but dissatisfaction often results. True, lasting contentment cannot be found in worldly things. Jesus wants our hearts to overflow with joy, and he offers it freely. Lydia McLaughlin’s devotions are full of power to apply Scripture, speak prayer, and start each day with a fresh promise.
