The Many Faces of Love

Doesn’t this popular passage sound like the most optimistic and challenging one to live out?

It’s also one of the popular Bible readings during a wedding that I know of and with good reason. It brings so much hope for a beautiful future, declarations of unconditional love through the highs and lows of life – the assurance that love conquers all things, and is more powerful than knowledge, prophesy or spiritual gifts. But beyond the verbal promises that this passage proclaims is a practical blueprint of the many faces that love shows itself.

It is in the little actions. It is the choice to not act in a particular way even when you are justified and when you’re right. There are so many ways we can choose to show love.

In this particular moment, let’s meditate on every line of this passage. Fill it in your mind and heart, recite it throughout today, and you may see more than enough opportunities for you to show love.
