7 Days Of Hope, Part 2ಮಾದರಿ

The Gift of No
When God says no to our earthly wants and desires, it’s because He has other plans in mind. The only specialist who would perform the critical cleft palate operation was the surgeon who diagnosed Christian with craniosynostosis and wanted to cut through his skull. Other specialists disagreed, and yet this doctor wouldn’t budge on the diagnosis.
When I received an offer from a stranger for us to receive a consultation at a prestigious children’s hospital in another state, I knew God was moving. Through that experience we met the right surgeon, the man who did more for Christian’s care than I ever would have thought possible.
Looking back, I see how God’s no led to a better yes. God knew what He was doing, even if it took 19 months for me to finally understand. When we see the picture from God’s perspective, it’s possible to think God’s no was a gift.
God doesn’t always tell us why He says no to our requests. When God tells us no, it’s because He has a reason, and that reason usually means He has an even better yes for us on the horizon.
How do you react to the disappointment of God telling you no?
