Mentoring Lessons- Trustಮಾದರಿ

Do people respond to your introductions?
Are your friends willing to meet people you have recommended? What would stop them?
At the heart of this question is how much people respect you and trust your judgment.
If your friends are willing to meet those you recommend, then your credibility is healthy and your influence with others expands. Your reputation with friends and your network is important!
There are little and big things that determine your credibility - integrity, generosity, listening skills, and promptness with time, as well as many others.
I learned this important lesson through an older friend. He wanted me to meet about 70 important business leaders from 30 countries. Previously, I found that meeting individuals like this seldom happened, even with a good introduction.
So I planned meetings and started on a three-month trip around the world to meet as many of the individuals as possible. In the end, I met almost everyone recommended just because our mutual friend asked that they meet me. He had credibility. I benefited from his reputation.
This experience was life-changing. I started to pay close attention to the quality of my friendships. Did people have high regard for me so they would be willing to meet with a friend when I asked? I learned to deeply value trusting friendships and have often seen God use them effectively.
Scripture to ponder – Proverbs 10:9
Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.
Key Lesson: If you find friends in your network hesitant to introduce you to their friends, you need to stop and ask why. Discuss this with your team, who will hopefully be truthful, loving, and helpful.
