One Another: Be Kind

DAY 2 OF 4

Day 2: God's Kindness

God's kindness is a cornerstone of His relationship with us. It is not just a fleeting sentiment but a steadfast, loving commitment to our well-being.

Psalm 17:7 speaks of God's wondrous loving-kindness, a refuge for those who seek Him. Isaiah 63:7 recounts the abundance of His steadfast love and compassion. These verses remind us that God's kindness is protective, compassionate, and abundant. It is a kindness that reaches into our brokenness and offers healing and hope.

As you meditate on these truths, consider how God's kindness has been evident in your life. Reflect on moments when His loving-kindness has provided comfort, protection, or guidance.

Let this reflection inspire you to extend the same kindness to others, becoming a vessel of His love and compassion in a world that desperately needs it.

Today, pray for a heart that mirrors God's kindness, seeking to uplift and support those around you.

Going Deeper

Theologically, God's kindness is an expression of His covenantal love, often referred to as "hesed" in the Old Testament. This term encompasses loyalty, faithfulness, and mercy. God's kindness is not dependent on our actions but is rooted in His unchanging nature.

Reflect on Lamentations 3:22-23, which speaks of the steadfast love of the Lord never ceasing and His mercies being new every morning. How does understanding God's covenantal kindness deepen your trust in His promises?

This plan is based on a sermon preached by Rev Jo Leutton.
