From Acceptance to Approval: Living a Life That Pleases the Father

DAY 4 OF 30

NORMAL EXPERIENCES: THE GROUND OF OUR FAITHFULNESS

Every believer must understand and embrace the normal experiences of life as part of their Christian journey. Jesus Himself, though the Son of God, partook of normal human experiences during His earthly walk. Mark 11:12–14 tells us how Jesus was hungry and approached a fig tree, expecting fruit. Finding none, He responded with words of faith. This shows us that even Jesus did not live by constant miracles but walked by faith like we are called to do. God does not exempt His children from the realities of life; rather, He expects us to grow through them. Walking through normal situations with unwavering faith is a powerful expression of sonship that brings pleasure to the Father.

The mistake many make is thinking that needing to use faith for everyday matters means something is wrong. Beloved, faith is not just for emergencies; it is the lifestyle of the believer. 2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV) reminds us, "For we walk by faith, not by sight." If Jesus faced hunger, waited on God's provision, and exercised faith even for the fig tree, then you and I are also called to live daily by trust in the Father. Don't despise the seasons where you have to pray through for provision, healing, or guidance. Those are the moments where your muscles of faith are being built. The normal Christian life is the proving ground where the true sons of God are revealed—not by dramatic interventions, but by steady, faithful dependence on Him.

I want you to learn that maturity in God is not measured by how much you can avoid normal challenges, but by how you handle them. It is in your consistent, unshaken walk that you rise beyond acceptance into divine approval. Do not envy others who seem to live in exceptional experiences; rather, embrace your daily walk with the Father. Your victories may seem small to men, but they are precious before God. Every ordinary day that you choose to walk by faith, trust in His Word, and remain steadfast, you are giving the Father pleasure and advancing in His purpose for your life.

THOUGHT TO PONDER: Are you learning to embrace your daily walk of faith without grumbling? How can you consciously bring the Father pleasure through your normal, everyday experiences?

PRAYER: Dear Father, thank You for showing me that even in life’s ordinary moments, You are with me. Help me walk by faith, not sight—trusting You in every need, delay, and trial. May my life be a faithful offering that brings You joy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
