How to Find Jesus for Yourselfಮಾದರಿ

What Did Jesus Do for Us?
You’ve probably seen a cross before. People wear it as jewelry. It shows up in art, tattoos, and even emojis. But what does it actually mean?
A cross was a brutal form of execution in ancient Rome. It was reserved for criminals and enemies of the state. So why is it the symbol of Christianity? Why did Jesus, someone who healed people and preached love, end up dying that way?
Here’s why: Christians believe Jesus died on purpose. Not because He deserved it, but because we did. That might sound intense. But hang with us.
We all know the world is broken. Just scroll through the news or think about your own life. Hurt, injustice, anxiety, regret—they seem to be everywhere all the time.
The Bible explains that this brokenness comes from something called sin.
Sin isn’t just a religious word; it’s anything that separates us from what’s good and right. That includes things like selfishness, pride, and violence, and less obvious things like the ways we ignore people or carry bitterness.
We’ve all done things we’re not proud of. And all of it, big or small, creates a distance between us and the God who created us. But instead of walking away from us, God stepped in.
Jesus came to close the gap. He lived with compassion and courage. He healed the hurting and welcomed the outcasts. Then, He willingly died on a cross, not for His mistakes, but for ours.
Romans 5:8 says it like this: “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
In other words, before you even knew who He was, Jesus loved you enough to take your place.
And it didn’t end with His death. Christians believe Jesus came back to life, proving that love is stronger than death, and that grace is more powerful than guilt.
If this is true, then the cross isn’t just a symbol—it’s a rescue mission. It’s God saying, “You don’t have to earn My love. I already gave it.”
So what now? Well, you have a couple of options.
If you feel something stirring in you ... like a want or a need to respond to what Jesus has done for you, then make this prayer below your own. It’s not a magic formula; it’s simply a way to surrender, saying, Jesus, I’ve found You and I want to live and love like You.
Pray something like this …
God, I’m here. I’m ready to know You, Jesus. I want to try following You with my life. Will You help me make You the Savior of my life? I want plenty of Your light to live in.
Jesus, I believe You gave me Your life; now I’m giving You mine. I admit that I’ve sinned and I need Your forgiveness.
Please make Yourself at home in my heart and comfort, love, and guide me into this new way of life. Thank You for Your grace, mercy, and forgiveness. Help me bring glory to Your name through my actions and faith. Thank You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
If you prayed that prayer, please let us know here so we can pray for you and offer some helpful next steps.
Challenge: If you’re still not sure about Jesus, but want to keep learning more, check out this article about what Jesus did for us. Then take a quiet moment and ask yourself: If Jesus really did this for me, how would I want to respond? You don’t need perfect words, just honesty. God is already listening.
