Prayer Initiative: Closer to Jesus ಮಾದರಿ

Two Johns, John the Baptist and John the Apostle were remarkable followers of Jesus who let the world know Who He was.
The first John did it through oral proclamation: “He is the One!” Second John, the son of Zebedee, was entrusted with writing a Gospel. He did it with a clear purpose: “that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”
John, a former fisherman became a master of writing. With the first words of His Gospel he opened the curtain to introduce Jesus: “In the beginning was LOGOS. In Logos was Life. This Life was the Light of all mankind.” Without Him our world was dark. Without Him our world was dead. He came like the Sun piercing the darkness and the darkness has not overcome.
Notice how many names are attributed to Jesus in the first chapter of the Gospel of John: The One and only Son Who came from the Father, Jesus Christ, the Only born, Who Himself is God, the One Who is in the bosom of the Father. The Lamb of God, God’s Chosen One, Messiah, the Christ, the One Moses wrote about in the Law, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph, Rabbi, the Son of God, king of Israel, the Son of Man.
Go back to John 1 and find all these names. Reflect on each name. Ask Jesus: “What do You have in Your Word for me today?” Listen and pray.
INTERCESSION: “For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in Whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” (Colossians 1:13,14)
PRAYER :
- Make a list of people who are still in the dominion of darkness. Commit to praying for their salvation daily.
- Start praying today.

About this Plan

The Gospel of John will be our focus for the next 21 days, one chapter at a time. We will carefully explore his words, discovering all we can about Jesus. We will dig deeper to understand the signs and miracles that could only be performed by the Son of God, the One Who came from above.
