What the Bible Says About Your Credit Score

DAY 3 OF 3

Day 3: Walking in Financial Freedom

Christ set us free—including from financial bondage. Yet many believers voluntarily place themselves under the yoke of debt and credit-score anxiety, limiting their financial freedom and peace.

True financial freedom isn't found in a high score; it's found in not needing one at all. It's making decisions based on wisdom rather than how they'll affect your credit report. It's building real financial strength through savings, contentment, and margin rather than through borrowing capacity.

The transition away from the world's credit-based system isn't always easy or quick. In today's society, your credit score can affect insurance rates, rental applications, and sometimes even job opportunities. I fully acknowledge that you can't always opt out cold turkey.

But you can stop letting it call the shots.

You can work within the system without bowing to it. And with each debt you pay off, each card you close, and each financial decision you make based on Biblical wisdom rather than FICO implications, you're moving toward greater freedom.

Remember that in God's eyes, faithfulness matters more than flashiness.

He's not impressed by your credit score; He's honored by wise stewardship.

The borrower may be slave to the lender, but "it is for freedom that Christ has set us free."

Today, identify one step you can take toward greater financial freedom. Perhaps it's creating a debt payoff plan, closing an unused credit account, or simply committing to make your next purchase with cash instead of credit. Whatever it is, take that step in confidence, knowing you're aligning with God's financial principles.

Let's pray: Father, thank You for the freedom You provide through Christ—including freedom in my finances. Give me courage to make decisions based on Your wisdom rather than the world's credit systems. Help me walk in financial peace rather than financial anxiety. Guide my steps as I work toward greater margin, contentment, and generosity. May my financial life be a testimony to Your provision and grace.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
