Wisdom: A Weapon of War

DAY 3 OF 3

Wisdom That Moves Mountains

Yesterday, we reflected on the legacy of the Wise Woman of Abel, how her spiritual awareness allowed her to rise above the tensions of her time and offer divine solutions amid national crises. The backdrop of 2 Samuel 20 was filled with rebellion, political unrest, and the looming threat of bloodshed. Yet, amid chaos, one woman stood still enough to hear God, and wise enough to act when it mattered most.

What strikes me about her is not just what she did, but how she did it. She didn’t rush to speak. She didn’t react in fear. She observed. She discerned. She positioned herself with spiritual clarity. This woman embodied the wisdom found in James 1:19: “Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.” This posture allowed her to move in sync with God’s strategy.

When she finally spoke, it wasn’t to stir panic, it was to present a clear, godly solution. She approached Joab not with trembling, but with truth. Her words in 2 Samuel 20:21-22 were not only respected—they were followed. She called for justice without violence. She offered peace without compromising truth. And when the men of the city heard her, they acted. Her wisdom didn’t just speak—it saved.

This is the movement of true spiritual wisdom. It does not stay idle. It prepares in private, discerns in prayer, and moves in power. It echoes Proverbs 18:21, reminding us that “life and death are in the power of the tongue.” And like Jesus' teaching in Matthew 17:20, it reveals how a word spoken in faith can indeed move mountains.

She didn’t need a title to carry authority; her alignment with God’s truth gave her all the influence she needed. The entire city’s fate turned on her discernment and courage.

Let this be a reminder to you: your spiritual posture matters. Your ability to listen for God, discern the moment, and speak life-giving truth is more powerful than you realize. In your home, your workplace, your church, and your community, your words can preserve peace, protect generations, and shift destinies.

Women of God, do not underestimate your influence. When you walk in wisdom, seek divine perspective, and operate under the authority of the Holy Spirit, heaven backs your voice. Like the Wise Woman of Abel, you were created to be a preserver of life, a carrier of peace, and a conduit of holy solutions.

Reflection:

  • Where in your life is God calling you to listen before speaking?
  • What decisions or situations need your voice, but only after seeking God’s wisdom?
  • How can you steward your influence to promote peace and preserve life?

Prayer:
Lord, teach me to lead with wisdom and humility. Help me to listen with spiritual ears, to speak only what aligns with Your heart, and to act in faith without fear. Like the Wise Woman of Abel, may my words carry Your power, and may my life reflect Your truth. Amen.

Final Thoughts:

Though unnamed, the Wise Woman of Abel leaves us a powerful legacy: wisdom builds, preserves, and protects. As you step into your sphere of influence this week, may you be anchored in peace and clothed with wisdom, knowing your quiet strength has the power to save cities.

“Wisdom is better than weapons of war.”Ecclesiastes 9:18

About this Plan

Wisdom: A Weapon of War

Explore the Wise Woman of Abel. In this plan, Dr. Shenica Nelson invites us to discover what it truly means to be a spiritual warrior, one who uses wisdom as a weapon to bring peace and preservation. Drawing from 2 Samuel 20:14-22, this study highlights the story of an unnamed woman who shifted the course of a city through discernment, strategy, and Spirit-led courage. Each day reveals how we, too, can wield the powerful tools of wisdom in our homes, communities, and callings.
