As we continue in Paul’s letter to the Philippians, the type of writing changes from regular letter-writing and breaks into what most scholars believe is a song (or a poem) about Jesus and his example of humility. This section of scripture has significant theological depth, but above all, it reminds us that Jesus is the one we should look to as our example, the one who shows us the path of humility, and the one who is worthy of all of our worship.
Take a moment to listen to this musical adaptation of these verses. Let the time it takes to listen allow you to slow down and spend time with Jesus.
What do you want to say to God in response? Write out a short prayer or say one out loud.
Practice: Take a short walk outside – either alone or with someone. Don’t listen to music or podcasts but try to be aware and present as you walk. Notice how walking allows you to engage your body.
