The Curse of the Law

This plan is about healing.
Not about why one person is healed, and another is not.
Not about ten steps to healing and three steps to lose it again.

This plan is about the will of God concerning healing.
His will is clear: healing is His will.

God does not want anyone to be sick. Sickness does not come from Him, but from the devil.
Sickness is “demonic.” It is a “curse.”

To understand this better, we first need to look at the curse of the law.

Galatians 3:10 (NKJV)
“For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.’”

This verse teaches us that when you are under the law, the curse of it is also on you. How is this possible?

The works of the law place the curse on you because no one is able to keep the entire law.
There may have been people who came very close to keeping all the rules.
They obeyed many commandments, but it did them no good.

You can do so much good.
Be so faithful.
Live such a religious life.

But one single failure, and you are guilty of the whole law (James 2:10).

That is why Romans 3:20 says that by the works of the law “no flesh shall be justified,” because we have all sinned—without exception! (Romans 3:23)

Trying to keep the law to please God, or thinking you can save yourself by it, nullifies grace and is futile. The Bible actually teaches that the curse of the law is on you when you try to justify yourself by keeping it. You fall from God’s grace.

Galatians 5:4 (NKJV)
“You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.”

Whoever lives under the law exposes himself to everything that belongs to the curse of it (you can read about this in Deuteronomy 28:15-68). All these things can happen because, when the law is broken, God can no longer stand “between you and the curse—all the misery of this fallen world”.

You step out from under “His covenant,” and therefore out from under “His protection.”

It is not that God is “punishing” you for doing these things, but that He can no longer legally protect you from them.

Sickness, misery, fear, and oppression are not punishments from God, but the result of living outside His covenant.

God does not make people sick.
God does not send sickness.
Sickness entered the world through the fall.

Prayer

Father, thank You that Your Word shows me the truth. I do not want to live by works, but by grace. I choose to remain in Your covenant. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
