Depression
Jesus, I Need You Part 3
Journey to the Jordan to reflect on the baptism of Jesus and His call to us to believe, repent, and follow Him. Find Jesus there. This is part three of eight in the "Jesus, I Need You" series by Thistlebend Ministries, focusing on drawing closer to Jesus. The plans in this series can be done in any order. See also "Jesus, I Need You" (companion prayer).
Embracing Who God Created You To Be
We know God tells us that we are new creations, and yet so often it doesn’t feel like it. We end up pretending to have everything together, while inside we are in deep pain. The first step is to stop the pretence, which is where this study starts. It then encourages you to continually go to the source in order to learn more about, and embrace, who you truly are.
Victory Through Weakness
Suffering can be perplexing. God’s people—and even Jesus himself—have often asked the “Why?” question when facing suffering. Scripture pulls back the curtain to reveal some, though not all, of God’s purposes in permitting suffering to enter our lives. Through it all, we are called to persevere faithfully, resting in the assurance of ultimate victory and eternal reward.
Overcome
With wisdom and compassion, Clayton King identifies the lies we commonly believe, each rooted in fear. He blows them apart, one by one, with God's truth, allowing readers to take back control of their hearts, minds and actions. Covering such pervasive problems as loneliness, shame, human suffering, and more, Clayton shines a light on what holds us down and clears the way for faith that sets us free.
Better Things
We all desire to experience “better things” in this life, but in our desperate pursuit to obtain them we often overlook what we've already been given. Throughout this study, we will discover four things we lost during The Fall in Genesis but received again through Jesus. We will see how they truly are the “better things” that we have been searching for.
