Drink In: Living From A Healthy SoulSample
Drink In
Right now, take a mental inventory. What are the responsibilities you have to address today? What tasks are priority #1 for you to complete in this current business cycle? If you take Romans 8:28 seriously, the greatest thing you could possibly accomplish is to grow your love for God. If this verse is true, then there is a difference waiting for the person who chooses to lean into a loving relationship with God.
As this love grows, this person can rest, live, and work with a great sense of confidence that all things encountered-both the good and the bad- will result in long-term good. Nothing encountered is so bad that God cannot use it for good. Stop and reflect on that truth for a moment.
Not only big, bad things-but also insignificant details encountered will be turned by God into long-term good. If this promise is fleshed out in real time, nothing will send this man or woman into a pit of despair. Instead he or she will patiently wait upon God.
All things- the big, the bad, and the insignificant- will work toward our good. This is not necessarily experienced in the day to day, but through the long-term lens of eternity.
As we walk through the trials of life, hold fast to the promise God shares. All things will work together for good to those who love Him. Then hope grows and confidence increases.
Pour Out
Consider a circumstance that you viewed as bad or negative. As you ask God to give you His perspective, think and pray on how this could work for good.
