The leader of a country has a lot of power, they control a country’s military, write laws that affect millions of their citizens, and can shape the direction a country takes in the world.  But their power has limits.  They can only be in one place at a time. Because of this, world leaders will commission men or women to act as a representative on the behalf of the leader.  This ambassador has the full power and authority of the world leader they represent.  It’s a very important job!

Did you know that we are Christ’s ambassadors to the world?  Paul writes to a group of Christians and tells them that they are new creations, their old sinful self is gone and now each and every one of us has been called and commissioned to be part of the ministry of reconciliation.  We are ambassadors for Christ, God is making His appeal to the world through your actions and words each and every day.  In every interaction we have with people we should be asking ourselves, “How can I best represent my King to this person?”  Our full-time job is now to help people be reconciled to God, and we do this with the full power and authority of the King we represent!  How amazing is it that the King of the universe would trust you with this responsibility.  He does it because, in the same way, a king trusts his ambassador our King trusts you as a new creation to be His ambassador.  

Take a moment before you read the daily scriptures to pray and thank God for trusting you with the privilege of being his ambassador at your school, your job, on your sports teams, and in your clubs.
