Love God Greatly-Fear & AnxietySample

READ: Romans 8:31-39, Zephaniah 3:17, 1 John 4:18-19

SOAP: Romans 8:37-39  

To be known and loved is one of the greatest human needs in life. The extent to which God loves us is measured only by the distance of Jesus’ nail-pierced hands. Our Heavenly Father loves us so much that He sent His Son to die for us. The greatness of His love is incomprehensible.

We can find peace in knowing that our God not only loves us, but He likes us. Our relationship makes Him glad. He rejoices over us!  His love provides for us a place of comfort and quiet confidence. There is nothing that we could do that would make Him fall out of love with us. Even if we fail God, His love will never forsake. 

God’s love gives us the ability not to fear. We do not have to fear His disapproval or His rejection. There is no need to cower in shame when we feel weak. Rather, we can look at our lives in victory because it is His love that carries us.

When have you experienced God’s love in your life? Embracing God’s love is a process. Our experience with the world teaches conditional love. In what area have you felt that God didn’t like you because of how you behaved? When we begin to worry whether our performance is enough for God, remember we already are more than enough by simply being His child. 

Father God, thank You for Your love. Thank You for loving me first, even when I was unable to love You. I praise You for sending Your Son as the example of love. Help me to replace my fear with the hope that I already am enough to You, in You, and for You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
