Fear and anxiety sometimes manifest out of loneliness. We believe that no one understands what we are going through and that we are completely alone in our circumstances. Our Scripture today shows us that we are not alone.

When the Israelites were about to go into the Promised Land, Moses reminded them not to be afraid of the enemies they would encounter because the Lord would be with them. He would neither leave nor forsake them. Remember, this was after they had doubted, and He had provided for them for forty years in the desert. God continued to walk with His people. 

David, as a shepherd and a runaway king, understood loneliness. Yet, he penned some of the most comforting words of Scripture. He recognized God’s presence in his life and understood that no matter what circumstances arose, the Lord would be his comfort.

How have you allowed yourself to lean on God’s presence in times of fear? God promises He will never leave us, no matter what. We can trust in His promise today. 

Father God, thank You for Your Presence. Help me feel Your presence in my life today. May Your Spirit give me comfort and peace. Help me be strong and courageous when I feel weak and afraid. Thank You for giving me Your Son as the perfect example of obedience. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
