Daily New Testament - Quarter 2Sample

Paul is pointing out that his ministry is motivated by his love for God and his people, not by what he can get out of it. In fact, he has suffered a great deal of loss in order to do what he is doing.
One of the ways we can evaluate spiritual leaders is by looking at what Paul says in this chapter. A leader who seems motivated by gaining money, respect, recognition or power is not following in the example of Paul. Paul gave up those things because he wanted to minister to others. If he corrected someone or taught something, it was for the benefit of his listener, not for his own benefit.
