Day 1 – The Challenge and an Approach
We all have notions about the truth, but how do we know for sure that these ideas are coming from God? Am I hearing God? Or am I only hearing myself? Worse yet, am I hearing the temptations of Satan disguised as the leading of the Holy Spirit?
Sometimes distinguishing our own ideas from God’s leading is difficult. How do we “take every thought captive” when we aren’t sure where the thoughts are coming from?
We can measure what we are hearing against several standards. Is it consistent with Scripture? Is the Holy Spirit speaking to our heart? Are strong believers confirming what we are hearing? Is our heart at peace with God?
We will spend the next five days walking through each of these concepts and how we can learn to identify whether we are hearing truth or temptation.

About this Plan

We often seek direction where free will offers options. Life is also full of decisions that do not have absolute, specific-by-name, how-to directions in the Bible. In these times, we are faced with discerning whether what we think we hear is actually from God, Satan or our own inner voices. This reading plan will walk though how we can know the difference and walk forward in confidence.
