Journey Witnesses

DAY 134 OF 221

Psalm 36 is set against the backdrop of the evil deeds and schemes of men. David, the servant of the Lord, expresses confidence and praise in light of God’s character and protection. David can be sure of salvation from his enemies because of God’s protective love. The world may not fear God and His judgment and will continue to pursue evil. However, David’s perspective presents an alternative of resting in God Almighty and the essentials of a balanced life in Christ.

This passage emphasizes the power and peace of resting under the wings of the Almighty. Despite David’s trouble and tribulation, he is always reminded that true peace and refuge can only be found in God. Only in Christ can light be found. Only in Christ can the kingdom of heaven manifest itself on earth.

You may face hardships and persecution because you are a witness for Christ. In America, you may be mocked and called names. In other countries, you could be imprisoned or even put to death. But do not fear, because the Lord is always your refuge and strength.

About this Plan

Journey Witnesses

Because ignoring the great commission is not an option. Jesus left us with the great responsibility to go and make disciples, to be witnesses, and to be his hands and feet in this world. Don’t leave something so important to chance. This reading plan is created to help you make disciples who make disciples. Use this reading plan the Awana Journey Bible Study book entitled Witnesses.
