Reading the Bible in Historical Sequence Part 3Sample
Many fall to sexual lust, worship of Baal (Psalm 106:28), and death. Moses is ordered to punish Midian for their seduction. God urges Israel that on entering the land they drive out all Canaanites and destroy their idols. He appoints Joshua as leader.
Note Numbers 25:17; 31:2: The Midianites who lived with the Ammorites under Sihon (Joshua 13:21–22) had joined with the Moabites (Numbers 22:4) in seducing Israel into adultery.
