1055 BC David at 30 is enthroned at Hebron to reign over Judah. He has to fight a long civil war against Abner and Saul’s son Ishbosheth. Within six years these two are murdered. This annoys and saddens David.
Note Psalm 93: Floods (v.3). The word flood in Scripture often means rebellious uprisings against God.
