c.1117 BC Samson is captured, blinded and enslaved but then gets revenge collapsing the building he is in and killing many including himself. Encouraged by this, the Israelites battle the Philistines but are defeated and lose the ark of the covenant. Eli dies in shock. Samuel (c.45 years) becomes Israel’s leader. After seven months the Ark is back.
