1035 BC Joab attacks the Ammonites while David (50) stays at home and seduces the wife of Uriah, one of his Thirty. Uriah is then killed in battle. David repents and God forgives him but a family curse remains. He leads the defeat of the Ammonites.
Note 1 Chronicles 20:3: David uses cruel Ammonite methods to kill the Ammonite captives.
